Sara Kappos began her role as Assistant Public Works Director - Engineering in January 2020. Prior to working for the City, she spent a decade working as an engineer for local firm Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. In that role, she worked collaboratively on public projects with various municipalities including the City of Waukee. Kappos holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University. She is also the acting ADA Coordinator for the City.
