Community Development

The Community Development Department is located at 204 W. Hickman Road, just south of City Hall.

The Community Development Department is comprised of the building, code compliance and planning functions for the City of Waukee. Staff members strive to serve the Waukee community under a broad scope of services which includes but is not limited to:

• Building inspections
• Building permit review and issuance for new homes, additions, decks, signs, etc.
• Creation, review and implementation of various long-range plans for land use and development
• Review of plats, site plans, rezoning applications, etc.
• Code enforcement
• Supporting operations of the Planning and Zoning Commission
