Summer Safety Tips for KidsKids Summer Safety

  • Take a friend with you whenever you go places or outside to play.
  • Know your full name, address, telephone number, and your parent’s names.
  • If you ever get lost in a public place, talk to a person in charge right away.
  • Before taking anything from someone you don’t know always check with your parents or a trusted adult.
  • Check with your parent or trusted adult before you get into a car with someone you don’t know.
  • Say no if someone tries to treat you in a way that makes you feel confused or scared, and tell your parents or trusted adult right away.
  • Before doing online activities talk to your parent or trusted adult so they can make sure it is safe.
  • Use the “buddy,” system when you go swimming and make sure an adult is watching.
  • Always cross the street at a corner or crosswalk.  Look left and right before crossing.
  • Whenever you ride in a car, ride in the back seat and always wear your seatbelt.
